What we make

We make converters between Kruti Dev, DevLys, Mangal and Unicode, a Hindi typing tutor with timed tests on the Remington layout, an on-screen Hindi keyboard, English to Hindi typing, printable charts and guides to the problems people bring us. Everything is free and needs no account.

How we check it

Hindi conversion goes wrong in small, costly ways: the short-i matra on the wrong side of its consonant, a reph on the wrong syllable, a conjunct split in two. So every rule in the converters is tested against real documents and against the fonts themselves. The Kruti Dev keyboard chart is read out of the Kruti Dev 010 font file, key by key, and more than a thousand automated tests run before any change goes live. A font pair that has not been verified is marked as coming soon rather than guessed at.

Your text stays on your computer

The converters and the typing tutor run entirely in your browser. What you paste or type is not uploaded, logged or stored by us. The one feature that uses an outside service is English to Hindi typing in Hinglish mode, which asks Google's input service how to spell each word. The privacy policy sets out exactly what that means.

Who we are

The MyKrutiDev team is a small group of developers and Hindi typists who have spent years moving office documents between Kruti Dev and Unicode. We are not affiliated with the makers of Kruti Dev, DevLys, Chanakya or Mangal, or with any exam body. To report a wrong conversion or suggest a feature, contact us.
