Common problems & fixes

Kruti Dev 010 is not in Word's font list: Word reads its font list when it starts. Close every Word window and open it again. If it is still missing, the install did not finish: right-click the .ttf and choose Install for all users.
The file shows English letters on another computer: The font lives on your computer, not inside the .docx. The other machine needs Kruti Dev 010 as well - or send a PDF, or convert the text to Unicode so it reads anywhere.
A few letters come out wrong: You probably have another member of the family (011, 016, 055) rather than 010. They share most keys but not all. Install Kruti Dev 010 itself.
It will not work on a phone or in Google Docs: Neither lets you add a font, so Kruti Dev shows as English letters there. Convert to Unicode on this page. Unicode Hindi displays on every phone.

No. It is a legacy font: it draws Hindi letters on the codes of English keys. The file stores Hkkjr and only the font turns it into भारत, which is why the text breaks the moment the font is missing.

Can I download Kruti Dev 010 from this site?

What Kruti Dev 010 is

Kruti Dev 010 is a Hindi font from before Unicode. Instead of storing Devanagari letters, it reuses the codes of the English keyboard: press d and the file stores the letter d, but the font draws क. Its layout is the Remington typewriter keyboard, which is why typists, offices, courts and typing exams across the Hindi-speaking states still ask for it.

The catch is that the Hindi exists only while the font is present. Open the same file where Kruti Dev 010 is not installed and you see the raw keys - Hkkjr instead of भारत. The text is not damaged. It is being drawn by a font that treats it as English.

How to install it on Windows

Get the font file, usually Kruti_Dev_010.ttf or K010.TTF, from a source you trust. If it came as a .zip, extract it first - Windows cannot install a font from inside a zip.
Right-click the .ttf and choose Install for all users, or Install if you do not have administrator rights.
Close Word completely, open it again, and pick Kruti Dev 010 from the font list.
