Pasted text keeps the wrong font in my template
Word kept the font of the page you copied from. Paste with Keep Text Only, then select the text and choose Kruti Dev 010.
Keys differ from the original Kruti Dev file
Kruti Dev often has two ways to key a letter, and the converter always uses one standard sequence. It prints the same Hindi. Only the keys behind it differ.
English words turn into Hindi letters
In the Kruti Dev font every English letter is drawn as Hindi. After pasting, select the English words and give them an English font such as Arial.

I want to convert Hindi to Kruti Dev. Is this the right page?
Yes. Hindi typed on a phone keypad, the Windows Hindi keyboard, or copied from a website or WhatsApp is already Unicode. Can I type Hindi directly into the box instead of pasting?
Yes. Switch your keyboard to Hindi and type into the left box, which is set up for Devanagari input. Typing Hindi phonetically in English letters ("namaste" for नमस्ते) is not supported yet. That is a separate feature called transliteration.
Why would I convert Unicode back to Kruti Dev?
There are three common reasons. First, a printing press or DTP operator still works in Kruti Dev and needs the file in that font. Second, a typing test or stenography exam is conducted in Kruti Dev and you want practice material. Third, an old template has to stay consistent with documents typed years ago.
Will the result be identical to text originally typed in Kruti Dev?
It will be equivalent, but not always character-for-character identical. Several Kruti Dev key sequences produce the same letter (क can be keyed two different ways), so the converter picks one canonical spelling. Converting back to Unicode returns the original text either way.
What happens to English words and numbers?
They are left alone by default, which matters more in this direction than the other: converting the digits in a date or an account number would silently corrupt it. You can switch the behaviour off with the checkbox under the panels.

“Hindi to Kruti Dev” is this page

If you type Hindi on an Android or iPhone keypad, or with the Windows Hindi keyboard, or paste it from WhatsApp or a website, that text is already Unicode. There is no separate “Hindi” format to convert from. So this one page covers both “Hindi to Kruti Dev” and “Unicode to Kruti Dev”. They are the same conversion.

The same goes for Mangal and Nirmala UI: both are Unicode fonts, so text in either of them can be pasted straight into the box on the left.

Unicode to Kruti Dev, the right way round

Converting into a legacy font is harder than converting out of one, because the text has to be put back into visual order. Every short-i matra has to move to the front of its consonant cluster, every reph has to move to the end of the syllable it belongs to, and the composed vowel signs ो, ौ and ॉ have to be split back into the two glyphs Kruti Dev draws them with.

This page does all of that as you type. The output is plain ASCII, which is what Kruti Dev text is, and it turns into Hindi the moment the Kruti Dev font is applied to it.

What to do with the output

Who uses this direction

Printing presses and DTP shops that have twenty years of Kruti Dev templates. Candidates for court, district and state clerical typing tests whose notification asks for Kruti Dev, and who need practice passages in that font. Offices that receive a Unicode draft from one department and have to fit it into a legacy template from another. And anyone maintaining an old publication where switching the whole archive to Unicode is not realistic.

A note on exact spellings

Kruti Dev often offers more than one way to key the same letter. Where that happens the converter picks a single canonical spelling, so its output may not be byte-identical to text a person typed by hand. It renders identically, and converting it back with the Kruti Dev to Unicode converter returns exactly what you started with.
